Even after 10 years, Life is Strange remains a core game to me. Though the dialogue can be a little cringe and dated even during it's time of release (like "Ready for the mosh pit, shaka brah?" π please stop talking Max), I think it captured something really lovely. The choice of music, the ambiance and art style was something I felt was really unique. The characters were charming even if some were grating at times (Chloe...). I think, in a way, it felt very teenage, coming of age because of those 'flaws'. It captured the messiness of teenage and early 20s and the rewind power mechanics made it really fun, the photo taking too! I loved the mystery aspect of the game, where did Rachel Amber go and her disappearance. (f/ck you Mr. Jefferson!!!). I personally liked how messy the relationship between Max and Chloe is, because Chloe is messy and extremely flawed herself. She is contradictory, infuriating at times, stubborn, self-centred in her pain but all of those things actually made me like her even if she was unreasonable at times. She is such a tragic character and exploring parts of her past with Max, and how they move forward was a big part of it for me. I think Life is Strange as a franchise will always be special to me no matter how much time passes!
